For Today’s Japan Photo, we will be featuring a very interesting mode of public transport – the neko bus. This vehicle was shot in Iizuka-shi, Fukuoka Prefecture, and from the photo it seems to be used as a school bus.

It seems to resemble the neko bus that was seen in the anime movie My Neighbor Totoro (となりのトトロ).

For Today’s Japan Photo, we will be dropping by Satsuki and Mei’s House from the Studio Glibli anime film My Neighbor Totoro (となりのトトロ) that is located on the Expo 2005 site in Nagoya-city, Aichi Japan.

The house was constructed during the 2005 EXPO in Aichi Prefecture. Back then the EXPO theme was marvelous mechanism of nature and the power of life, hence My Neighbor Totoro was an excellent theme to educate the public about caring for the nature.

How many of you folks like watching the anime movie My Neighbor Totoro (となりのトトロ)? If you are too cheap to purchase one of the plushies, then you might want to just try your hands at crochet (or just get your grandma to make you one).

Meet the latest addition to my family of plushies and figures – A small blue Totoro plushie. Looks like Haruhi is giving Totoro a nice welcome ^^

This little guy had cost me about 30 SGD and I had ordered another larger grey version that is set to arrive in another couple of weeks.

Totoro Pine Cone Statue

ANN reports of a 2.1-Meter statue of Totoro made out of 10,000 pine cones was spotted in Aeon Ayagawa Shopping Center is located the town of Ayagawa in the southwestern Japanese prefecture of Kagawa.

The statue was unveiled on November 29 as part of a promotional event for the timber industry of Kagawa and the neighboring prefecture of Tokushima.

The statue had measured 3.6 meters (12 feet) around the waist and weighs 100 kilograms (220 pounds). It took 10 shopping center employees and volunteers two months to assemble the pine cones around the wire-and-bamboo frame.

Awesome Mini-Totoro Using Eggs

Totoro Cream Puffs

Totoro is the mystical creature from Hayao Miyazaki’s masterpiece My Neighbor Totoro (となりのトトロ). While one might expect to find Totoro in the forest, you’d never expect to find him in the neighbourhood cafe. ^^

These cute cream puffs are made by a small shop “Shirohige no shou cream kobo” in a quiet residential neighborhood of Tokyo. Apparently, it is the only shop officially recognized by Studio Ghibli and sells one type of product only: Totoro cream puff.

These pastries are so popular due to their kawaii outlook that the only way you can get hold of one is if you made a reservation via phone first. The cream puffs comes out fresh from the oven at 11am and they are usually sold out by 11:10am. Only 100 Totoros are baked every single day.

So next time if you drop by Tokyo, Suginami, Takaido-higashi, you might want to check out these Totoro cream puffs.
