Sega has uploaded onto youtube the retailers promotional video for their upcoming Nintendo 3DS game “Hatsune Miku and Future Stars Project Mirai” that will be released on 8 Mar 2012.

After watching the PV, its almost quite impossible not to fall in love with all the kawaii Nendoroid Vocaloids that will be featured in the game. The game will be retailing for around 5,800 yen and interested folks can place your preorders with CDJapan:

Sega Invites Gamers To Choose Next Setting for Yakuza 5

The Yakuza (龍が如く) video game franchise has brought gamers to experience the Japanese mafia lifestyle in different settings of Tokyo, Kyoto and Okinawa.

Sega is now making plans for Yakuza 5 and they have created an internet survey so fans of the series can choose for themselves which location Kiryu Kazuma will be travelling to next.

The options available for voting are: Sapporo, Osaka, Nagoya and Fukoka. I think it would be amazing to see the vibrancy of Osaka being reflected in a Yakuza game. Sega had done a great job showcasing the relaxing beaches of Okinawa in Yakuza 4. So which one would you choose?

Earlier we talked about the Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai game that Sega was working on for the Nintendo 3DS. Well spotted at the Tokyo Game Show to help promote the game is this life-size mascot of Hatsune Miku at the Sega booth.

Japanese Gaming Giants Donate Generously to Disaster Relief

After the disastrous earthquake and tsunami, Japan is slowly starting to recover. Meanwhile the rescuers are still searching for survivors while the rest are starting to clean up.

The country is united and is pulling itself together back on its feet and everyone is doing its part. Various gaming companies have come together to donate generously to the disaster relief fund as well.

Sony Corp: 300 million yen and 30,000 radios
Nintendo: 300 million yen
Namco Bandai: 100 million yen
Sega Sammy: 200 million yen
Koei Tecmo: 100 million yen

Its encouraging to see so many companies and celebrities coming together to help the nation. For those that are interested in donating, you can make use of Google as well.

On the same note, our favorite figurine makers GoodSmile Company and MaxFactory have stated on their blog that they will be donation 10 million yen as well.

Ryu ga Gotoku Of the End Delayed

Ryu ga Gotoku Of the End (龍が如く OF THE END) was orginally scheduled for release on the PS3 in Japan on 17 Mar 2011. However, due to the recent earthquake and tsunami that happened last Friday, the game release has been indefinitely delayed.

This piece of news was announced by Sega earlier today. I think many people wouldn’t have the mood to hunt zombies after so many innocents folks have perished under the tsunami and earthquake.

Yakuza Of the End’s Hostesses Keeps You Punctual

During the earlier release of Yakuza 4 [龍が如く4], Sega collaborated with iPhone Application Bijin Tokei [美人時計] to feature their in-game hostesses (Shizuka Saitoh, Noa Mizutani and Maya Mori) to appear on Bijin Tokei holding a sign with the time and “Ryu Ga Gotoku 4″ written on it. Now that Ryu ga Gotoku Of the End has been released in Japan last week, Sega is once again continuing their partnership with Bijin Tokei.

Its tough to fight zombies and make sure you arrive on time at the cabaret club to meet your favorite hostesses, so this app might come in rather handy. Anyway, the hostesses will be making their appearance on Bijin Tokei everyday until 24 Mar 2011 and they will only appear between 21:00 and 21:27.

Ryu ga Gotoku youtube channel has been updated with two new story and game version television CM for the upcoming seventh installment of the series: Ryū ga Gotoku Of the End (龍が如く Of the End) that is scheduled for release in Japan on 17 Mar 2011.

The game version of the CM is rather funny because it spells out the essence of the game: even during a zombie attack, your favorite Japanese entertainment outlets (Karaoke, Onsen and Hostess Club) always stay open! Now that is truly top service, what more could you ask for XD

The Ryu ga Gotoku youtube channel has been updated with two story and gameplay trailers for the seventh installment of the series: Ryū ga Gotoku Of the End (龍が如く Of the End).

A couple of interesting gameplay elements have been revealed including the ability to upgrade your weapons by collecting parts from fallen enemies, a new area called Kamurocho Underground and celebrity zombies. The only thing I can’t figure out is why the Hostess Club is still open when Kamurocho is infested with zombies. XD

Yakuza & Zombies: Ryū ga Gotoku Of the End

I never thought it would be possible to ever see a game featuring bad-ass Yakuza fighting against zombies. Well never say never because Sega will be releasing Ryū ga Gotoku Of the End (龍が如く Of the End) – the seventh installment in the Yakuza franchise that is set during a zombie outbreak in Kamurocho.

Here’s the trailer of the game that was shown today at the ongoing Tokyo Game Show 2010. The game will feature four protagonist: Kazuma Kiryu, Goro Majima, Ryuji Goda and Shun Akiyama.

I was expecting Sega to take a fresh look at the Yakuza franchise when releasing a sequel to Yakuza 4 but they have probably gone too far.
