I wonder if the bank-teller was in fear or laughing while they handed him the money. Its quite difficult to take a bank robber seriously if he’s wearing a Darth Vader helmet. LOL

It takes real guts to admit your mistake. In Osaka, a 22 year old construction worker had brought along a knife to the nearby convenience store with the intent of robbing it but changed his mind at the last minute and requested the manager to call the police. The police then arrested him for possession of a deadly weapon.

The man apparently entered the convenience store, changed his mind, and requested that the manager call police to report him. While the manager was placing the phone call, the thief laid the knife on the counter, wandered around the store, and helped himself to a can of coffee.

Police said that the man was recently married, was in debt, and planned on moving to a new apartment with his wife. He had consumed alcohol just prior to the incident, they said.

The suspect was quoted by police as saying: “I needed money quickly, and my first thought was to rob a convenience store. But I lost my nerve before I could go through with it.”

If I was the judge, I would have just sentenced him to a week of community service for being brave enough to admit his mistake and turn back at the last minute.

Its bad enough to be knocked down by a car from behind, but this poor a 20-year-old student was also robbed of 190,000 yen by the driver who caused the accident on early Sunday morning Okegawa, Saitama Prefecture.

According to the statement given by the student to the police, she was on her way home after her part-time job. She was then knocked down by the car behind. The approximately 50 year-old driver then came out of the car and asked her if she was okay. He then proceed to punch her in the face before taking her bag containing 190,000 yen and her cellphone, and driving off in his car.

Maybe the driver was thinking that since he was already in trouble, might as well commit another crime. I hoped that the student managed to see his car plate number.

This has gotta be one of the funiest robbery I’ve heard of because a 51-year-old man was robbed of his wallet and his clothes (!) on early Wednesday morning in Kita Ward, as he was on his way home after drinking. In the end he had to run home naked wearing only his shoes and socks to call the police! LOL

The man was drinking with a friend at a bar near JR Akabane station on Tuesday night, and started to walk home at about 1 a.m. Wednesday when he was attacked from behind by three youths. He was hit in the back of his head and threatened with a knife, while one of the youths demanded cash.

The man handed over his wallet which contained about 26,000 yen and then another of the youths told him to take off his clothes. The man removed all of his clothes and the youths picked them up and ran away from the scene, leaving him with just his shoes and socks, police said.

The man ran to his apartment about 300 meters away and called police. He gave a description of his attackers, saying they were about 17-18 years old and wearing baseball caps.

How can someone still have so much money in his wallet after going to the bar? Maybe he got conned at the red light district and was robbed of all his belongings and money. Then he create this cover story so that his wife wouldn’t find out =P

A wise man once said: “Never rob the place you eat”. But it seems like a man decided to rob a Yoshinoya beef bowl restaurant in Nagoya City on early Thursday morning after finishing his meal, and making off with 30,000 yen.

The man, dressed in black and wearing a black beanie, entered the store at around 3.30 a.m. and ate two large bowls of beef on rice and had two bowls of miso soup.

When the employee came to take the bill, which came to 1,260 yen, the man suddenly pulled out a knife from a plastic bag and threatened her with it, demanding she hand over some cash. The employee gave him about 30,000 yen and the man then left the restaurant, fleeing the area on his bicycle.

The man covered his face with a mask just before the attack but security cameras in the store recorded footage of his face, police said, adding there were no other customers in the store at the time nor were either of the two staff injured.

Source: JapanToday

I found it funny that he managed to ate so much at 3am. If I ate that much, I would be too sleepy and lose any motivation to carry out the robbery. But it was a good way to burn off the calories by riding away on the bicycle.

But what’s even amazing is that Yoshinoya is open at 3am in the morning? Not that I enjoy their food, but I didn’t know they operate 24 hours in Japan.

Ryo Miyata, who is unemployed and has no fixed address, entered a Familymart in Kita Ward at 3:30 a.m. He brandished a cutter and said:

“Could you give me some money please?”

The clerk instead said: “Why don’t you stop this?” Miyata immediately said “OK” and put the knife down ion the counter. “He looked quite timid and was very polite,” the clerk told reporters. The clerk then asked Miyata to wait in the back room for the police, which he did quietly.

Miyata, who had very little money on him, was quoted as saying that he was indigent. “I bought the cutter at a nearby 100-yen shop,” he told police.

I’m sure this is the first time the man is committing robbery. Somehow I emphathise with this man’s plight and hopes that he finds a job soon ^^

A 29-year-old man was robbed Tuesday night after he had stopped to let off a mother and son pair of hitchhikers he had picked up earlier near Koga City in Shiga Prefecture, police said Wednesday.

According to police, the driver was on his way home from work on Tuesday night when at about 6:30 p.m., he stopped to pick up a woman in her 30s and her 5 or 6 year-old son who were walking along the road in Ritto City. The pair got into the back seat, and the woman requested to be dropped off at the Shigaraki area in Koga City. After traveling about five kilometers, the group reached Otsu City when the son complained “I have to go to the bathroom,” and the woman requested the driver stop.

When the pair got out, the driver’s door was suddenly opened and a man reached in and hit the driver on the back of the head once, then choked him until he lost consciousness.

He woke up about 5 1/2 hours later and found himself in his car, which was parked on a road in Koga City about 20 kilometers from where he had stopped. The 15,000 yen in cash in his wallet was missing.

Police believe the group was a family who had thought of the plot to pose as hitchhikers and rob drivers at a pre-arranged spot.

The robber (20) entered the store and menaced the man at the counter with a knife, demanding ¥5,000. The luckless store employee complied, handing over a ¥5,000 note. Deciding that this was not enough, the robber then demanded an additional ¥5,000. This time, the employee handed over a ¥10,000 note, leaving the robber with ¥15,000.

This being more than he demanded, the robber politely returned ¥5,000, and then made good his escape.

As he had been filmed by security cameras the whole time and had only one hour before asked directions of a nearby police officer, he was soon tracked down and charged with robbery.

I’m amazed that the robber just wanted 10,000 yen. I always say: If you want to commit a robbery, make sure you rob losta money. =P

If you think that the police station is the safest crime free place, think again because a bag containing 1 million yen was snatched from a 62-year-old woman by two men about 50 meters from a local police station in Osaka.

According to police, one man suddenly snatched the bag while the woman was waiting on the sidewalk for the lights to change at around 10:40 p.m. The suspect got into a car which another man was driving.

The victim told police the two men were in their 30s and wore blue clothes.

Wait a minute, if the suspects were wearing blue clothes and the robbery took place near a koban ….. Maybe it was the cops that robbed her. LOL
