Google Celebrates Pac-Man 30th Anniversary

One of our favorite classic arcade game Pac-Man is celebrating its 30th anniversary and Google is paying tribute to this awesome game by having a small playable pac-man game on the landing page of their search engine.

I particular loved how you there is an insert coin tab next to the “Google Search” button. The other cool part of the Google Pacman Logo is that it is not using flash – only Javascript, HTML and CSS. So its playable even on my iPhone which is just simply awesome ^^

Pac-Man Buns Reviewed

Remember last Saturday I talked about Circle K conbini selling Pac-Man Buns in celebration of the game’s 30th anniversary? There seemed to be losta interest surrounding the filling of the bun, so Gigazine went out and bought several of them for a taste test.

The mouths on the bun were made with different sizes, some are large and some are small. Not too sure if the manufacturers meant for that to make it seem like they were eating the cookies, or it was just poor quality control ^^

Apparently the yellow creamy part was custard and the almond filling absorbed some of the moisture of the custard and became mushy. In summary, it doesn’t taste as good as it looks. LOL

The best bit was that the Pac-man trivia printed on the outer packaging. Did you know:

The tiny dots that Pac-man eats during the game are called cookies?
Pac-man design was inspired by pizza!

Pac-Man Buns: Nom Nom Nom

Did you know Pac-man has existed for 30 years? In celebration of its anniversary, Circle K convenience stores in Japan are selling this unique pac-man bun until 13 Jan 2010 for 120 yen each.

The bun doesn’t seem exactly tastly to me, but according to the description on ITmedia JP, the innermost layer of the bun is crushed almond, while the yellow part is some kind of pastry cream.

Pac-Man Mini Cooper

Here’s a cute mini cooper that is bound to bring back some nostalgic memories of the days you were playing pac-man.

The car is designed by Matt W. Moore, and he also designed a space-invader Mini Cooper.
