Seiyuu and singer Mizuki Nana (水樹 奈々) released her 26th single “Synchrogazer” last week on 11 Jan 2012 and it has managed to clinched the 2nd spot on the Oricon weekly single sales chart with over 510,00 copies sold. It is worth noting that since her 18th single, all her releases has managed to stay within Top 3 on the Oricon charts.

Personally I think Synchrogazer is a great single and I really enjoy all the three songs found on the CD, particularly Track 3″理想論” which I had been looping for the past few days.

Seiyuu and idol Mizuki Nana performed for the third time during the 62nd Kouhaku Uta Gassen on New Year’s Eve and it seemed like she really made an impact because she was the most tweeted artist throughout the show. Of course, the most tweets came in when she took the stage to perform POP MASTER, where it was recorded at 93.8 tweets per second.

Most tweeted artists per second during Kouhaku:

Mizuki Nana (93.8)

Shiina Ringo (44.5)

Kobayashi Sachiko (24.2)

I’m quite disappointed that Mizuki Nana wasn’t ranked higher but I sure support the decision that Hanazawa is this year best seiyuu because I absolutely love her voice as Mayuri in Steins;Gate.

So who is your favorite seiyuu for 2011? Do share with us why? ^^

Who are your most favorite anime seiyuus (voice actors and actresses)?

Voice Animage conducted a recent survey on the top 5 most popular male and female seiyuus and the results were published in TBS Rank Oukoku (ランク王国).

Kamiya Hiroshi (神谷浩史) was ranked most popular male seiyuu while the female seiyuu unit Sphere (スフィア) comprising of Kotobuki Minako , Takagaki Ayahi , Tomatsu Haruka, and Toyosaki Aki , were the most popular female seiyuus.

Top 5 Female

1st: Sphere スフィア
2nd: Mizuki Nana 水樹 奈々
3rd: Tamura Yukari 田村 ゆかり
4th: Hanazawa Kana 花澤 香菜
5th: Hayashibara Megumi 林原 めぐみ;

Top 5 Male
1st: Kamiya Hiroshi 神谷 浩史
2nd: Ono Daisuke 小野 大輔
3rd: Suzumura Kenichi 鈴村 健一
4th: Fukuyama Jun 福山 潤
5th: Sakurai Takahiro 櫻井 孝宏

Source: TBS Rank Oukoku (ランク王国)

Amongst the ranking most of the seiyuus had recently voiced a couple of high profile anime series, hence its not surprising to see why they are so popular. Though I’m quite surprised to see Hayashibara Megumi still being one of the top favorites but I guess her roles as Ayanami Rei, Lina Inverse, and Faye Valentine are just too classic we will always remember them.

Japan’s largest mobile site, RecoChoku polled its user which seiyuu they thought had a voice of a god or goddess and it seems like Mizuki Nana is the first seiyuu that comes to the minds of more than 2,5000 people that responded to the survey.

Here are the list of top five seiyuu with the voice of a god/goddess:

Mizuki Nana 水樹奈々

Hirano Aya 平野綾

Toyosaki Aki 豊崎愛生

Sugita Tomokazu 杉田智和

Kamiya Hiroshi 神谷浩史

Source: Barks via Tokyohive

Kamiya Hiroshi voice always remind me of Zetsubo Sensei and I can’t imagine god being so wacky. LOL

Personally I always thought that god would sound like Sugita Tomokazu 杉田智和, the seiyuu that is well known for his role as Gintoki in Gintama, and Kyon in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

Oricon reports that Nana Mizuki 水樹 奈々 will be releasing 2 singles concurrently on 13 Apr 2011. To mark the occasion, both singles will be sold for 777 yen which ties back to her name since the number 7 is pronounced as “nana” in Japanese.

Not much information on the two singles have been revealed at this time except that one of the songs will be used as the opening theme for “DOG DAYS” which is an upcoming anime series that will start airing in the Spring season.

I wonder if that is her plan to conquer both the 1st and 2nd place on the Oricon single chart for that week. Otherwise I find it pretty strange why she wants to release 2 singles together on the same day.
