To promote the launch of Star Wars: The Old Republic, the game’s publisher Electronic Arts gathered many Star Wars fans and arrange for a freeze mob battle in New York City’s Times Square.

The bunch of fans battling with lightsabers and frozen in motion allowed the rest a good photo opportunity. Will be getting my collectors edition of the game next week, then its time for me to spend some quality gaming time during the holidays season.

I would love to have a kawaii cat-girl in my party when I battle the evil forces ^^

Square Enix has always been able to push out breathtaking CG so its definitely worth your time to watch the trailer. But I wonder if the game would prove just as exciting as watching the beautiful rendered CG.

Just read this piece of great news of the newspaper this morning on Strait Times. Here are some of snippets:

The California-based game developer and publisher said it is keen to expand its presence in this region, given the burgeoning gaming population.

The location, opening date and size of the office have yet to be decided, said Blizzard.

In another development, it has appointed a new distributor, Singapore game publisher and distributor Infocomm Asia Holdings (IAH).

IAH is working with Blizzard to start a customer support unit for Blizzard and other IAH games, such as its soccer game Fifa Online and Granado Espada, a multi-player game.

‘We want to support this region. We recognise there’s a thriving community out here,’ said Mr Kevin Yu, global manager for community development at Blizzard.

To date, more than 11 million copies of the original StarCraft, including the Broodwar expansion, have been sold.

WoW is still the most popular massively multiplayer online role-playing game in the world, with over 11.5 million subscribers and an estimated 62 per cent of the market.

I think this proves to be great news since I’m sure many folks would be getting Starcraft II once it is released in July. I still remember having to deal with server lags while I was playing WoW many years back because we were playing on Australia servers.

It was mentioned that despite having seperate servers at the start, Capcom wants to eventually integrate the PC and Xbox 360 servers together eventually. The game is expected to be release this summer and Japanese gamers will pay 1,400 yen every month.

Even though there isn’t any official gameplay, the game trailer looks superb. It would be really amazing if you could enjoy all the different styles the game has to offer – medieval sword fighting to crazy lego ninjas and indiana jones.

The scene with characters battling marlboro look really cool and epic.

I think I would most probably be picking up this MMORPG after dropping World of Warcraft for so many years.

This figure is really gorgeous and her outfit really goes well with her pale white skin. But then again I never played the game before so I wouldn’t know whether the in-game characters looks as good.
