Being a convention that is aligned more towards the western popular culture of comics and video games, there were quite a few really cool displays from Hot Toys and Hasbro. The highly sought after “IRON MAN 2: 12” Mark IV Limited Edition” was being sold as an exclusive at the event and I heard that a line had formed outside the halls in the wee early morning hours just for it.

There were also quite a few exhibitors that were themed more towards the Japanese popular culture and one of the interesting display that caught my eye were these tiny nano blocks. They were basically “mini-legos” and I find it quite a challenge even to complete a simply structure.

One of my favorite booth was the Tokidoki’s, the Japanese-inspired lifestyle brand created in 2005 by Italian artist Simone Legno. I couldn’t resist their amazing designs and bought a cap for myself (the one that is pictured in the bottom left corner).

Dragon Nest, one of the hottest MMORPG now was also being demoed and I decided to try out the game for myself over the weekend. It is indeed quite fun and addictive. Too bad I just don’t have spare time to play MMORPGs anymore.

One plus point of the convention were these amazing mascots that were roaming the grounds and taking photos with everyone. It definitely made the entire event more fun and family-themed. The Mario Bros had a good time taking photos with scores of pretty babes lining up to take photos with them.

I definitely enjoyed myself at the event, even though I only managed to stay around for a couple of hours. I promised myself to make more time for STGCC 2012 so that I can interact with the awesome guests that they had invited for the fans.

The new characters include Doctor Doom, Chun-Li, Super Skrull, and Trish.

The coolest part about this trailer is that you get to see Dante face off against Deadpool. Just for that alone, I’m convinced I need to get this game ^^

Here’s what the big boys who orchestrated the business deal has to say:

Other Marvel’s characters include Captain America, the Fantastic Four and Thor.

“This is an unparalleled opportunity for Marvel to build upon its vibrant brand and character properties by accessing Disney’s tremendous global organization and infrastructure around the world,” he added.
