Lumix LX5 Specifications Unveiled On Tech Support Page

Panasonic Lumix LX3 was one of my most favorite compact camera and two years after its release, Panasonic is ready to push out the LX5. The camera was supposed to be announced next week but it seems that the website administrators have fumbled and uploaded the specifications onto the technical support page.

The new LX5 will come in two different colors: Black and White and you can view the full specification on the support page. But here’s a short summary of the notable features:

A longer zoom lens by Leica (3.8x zoom 24-90mm)
ISO: 80 to 12800
HD Video Recording 720p (AVCHDlite)
Anti-glare coating on LCD
10 megapixels

Personally I think its not much of an upgrade to the already awesome LX3, except for the longer range. I’m interested to find out how the upcoming Canon S95 will match up when it is announced in August.

Packing For Nendo’s Travelogue

Yesterday, comrade Kodomut and myself went out for Chapter 07 of Nendo’s Travelogue. Unfortunately, due to my unreliable sources, there were only one or two kite fliers in sight, and thus we were unable to complete our photoshoot. So I thought it would be interesting to just take a look at what I packed for the outing.

Just a quick run though of what I have inside my bag:

Lumix LX3
Swiss Blower
Canon Speedlite 580EX II (underneath the Lumix LX3 and Swiss Blower)
Canon 5D Mk II
Canon EF 17-40mm f/4.0 L
Canon EF 50mm f/1.4
Two containers of Nendoroid and their spare parts

And of course, I would stick the tripod on the outside of the bag and I’m all ready for a Nendo’s Travelogue Photoshoot.

My Lumix DMC-LX3

Its been almost 2 weeks since I bought my new compact camera, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3. I was pretty sure I made the purchase under influence from the “dark side“) ^^

Here’s another shot of it with the lens cap open. I gotten a modded Ricoh lens cap so I didn’t have to manually remove the lens cap everything I want to take a photo.

I had already taken some shots with it and I’m prety happy with its performance. After this purchase, I’m broke again and have to start saving up again for my next DSLR – the Canon EOS 5D Mark II!!

Took a couple of quick test shot using my new Lumix LX3. I’m quite happy with my new compact camera since it takes quite good shot. It has quite good noise control when using the camera under ISO 400. I’m interested to find out how the Finepix F200EXR performs in comparison.
