The movie is scheduled to be released in Japanese theatres on 3 Mar 2012. I’m quite used to seeing the pairing of Matsuda Shota and Erika Toda in the live-action Liar Game franchise, so I wonder if Tabe Mikako who starred in the recent Kimi ni Todoke (君に届け) film is able to inject new elements into the film.

Fans of Erika Toda and the Japanese Dorama “Liar Game” would be excited to know that a second season is being planned for Novemeber 2009, followed by a full length movie.

The piece of good news was announced at a press conference on Thursday. The second season will continue the story from the first season where the players will face off each other in four games and a semifinal round. The final round will be shown in the movie entitled: “LIAR GAME: The Final Stage”.

Fuji TV will start airing the drama in November, and the movie will open in theaters in February 2010.

When asked what she would do if she won the 5 billion yen grand prize, Toda replied, “I’d buy a house in some place like Okinawa, then save the rest,” while Matsuda said, “I’d make a movie theater and name it after myself. Then I’d only show movies I made.”

Source: Tokyograph and JapanToday

I still remember I had marathoned the series when I was down with a few days of sick leave a couple of years back. It was really a great show with lots of deception.
