For the past few days following the announcement of the reboot of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, many questions have arose in the minds of fans. Konami has upload this very interesting 25 minute interview with Kojima Hideo and it explains how the collaboration with Platinum Game was realised.

This is a very frank interview with Kojima and I’m surprise that the he was so ready to admit some of his failings in the development of the game.

At today’s Video Game Award, Konami made an important announcement that they have rebooted their upcoming game Metal Gear Solid: Rising with a new title “Metal Gear Rising Revengence” that will now be set as events taking place after MGS4.

In addition, it was also revealed that the game will be developed together with Platinum Games, and Kojima and Platinum’s Atsushi Inaba took to the stage to announce the collaboration.

For Today’s Japan Photo, we take a look at two “Kojima (小島)” posing together for photos during Konami’s Metal Gear Solid HD press conference held yesterday. The press conference was held to feature AKB48 member Kojima Haruna who starred in the recent commercial for MGS HD.

Konami just released the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection last week and I’m sure many fans of the franchise (like myself) are asking when would the next Metal Gear Solid 5 be released.

The series director Hideo Kojima has confirmed that he is currently working on Metal Gear Solid 5. The details will be revealed in next month’s official Playstation magazine UK. The feature interview with him will share insights into the plans for Metal Gear Solid series as a whole and his plans on the mysterious “Project Ogre” (which is rumored to be possible a sequel for Zone of Enders).

Fans of the Love Plus franchise will have to wait a little while longer before they get their hands on the “New Love Plus” game on the Nintendo 3DS because Konami has postponed the game release till 14 Feb 2012.

The game producer has written a message on the official website, explaining that while there are much anticipation for the release of the new game, they are really putting in effort to polish the game further. He further promised that the game will definitely be launched on next Valentines Day.

Meanwhile, Japanese fans can spend this year’s Christmas eve at home playing the old console version or head over to the nearest arcade with the Love Plus arcade machine.

I had been a big fan of the Suikoden franchise since it was first released on the Playstation. Imagine my excitement when I heard that Konami is currently working on a new Suikoden game that is scheduled for released on the PSP.

The game is titled Genso Suikoden Tsumugareshi Hyakunen no Toki (幻想水滸伝 紡がれし百年の時) and has been translated as “Genso Suikoden: The Woven Web of a Century”. Here’s the trailer that was shown at the Tokyo Game Show that took place over the weekend.

As earlier announced by Konami, the “New Love Plus” will be released for the Nintendo 3DS and during the Nintendo 3DS press conference today a new trailer was shown to introduce many of the new game features.

The game looks so good that I’m seriously tempted to get a Nintendo 3DS just to play this game. Then again I could get the Nintendo 3DS to play the just announced Monster Hunter 4 as well.

The New Love Plus sets are definitely a good way to boost up the sale of the Nintendo 3DS which had been lacklustre since its launch and Nintendo had even resorted to price reduction.

At the end of each session of the arcade game, players can print out a picture as souvenirs of their virtual date, and players can customised the outfit and pose of the photo.
