Despite the book being highly sought after by fans, it wasn’t available for sale. But now authorities have decided to release a pocket-sized version of the book. The book is scheduled to be released on 30 Jun and will be retailing for 1,050 yen. All of the money made from sales will be given to charity to help those effected by the Tohoku disaster.

Apart from Arashi, the authorities should get AKB48 to be featured in their next publication. Someone start a petition! XD

Yesterday I shared with you folks on JAL launching the Arashi Jet, now we have news that Arashi has made their way into a book titled “Nippon no Arashi” that is meant to promote the culture and beauty of Japan.

Copies of the book will be distributed to every elementary, junior high, and senior high school in Japan. The book features Arashi introducing all the sights of different parts of Japan, and contains photos of the boy band spending time with the local folks.

I’m quite sure this book will become a collector’s item given that it is not sold in any bookstore. Most probably you’d start to hear news of these books being stolen from the school library by crazy fangirls just within a week ^^

Research by Japan Youth Research Institute in 2002 have revealed that Japanese school children are low in self-esteem. This sparked off worries from the Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education (BoE) and the board has decided on embark on their own research in the next academic year.

The 2002 research indicated that only 9.4 percent of Japanese junior high school students are generally happy with themselves, compared to 53.5 percent in the U.S. and 24.3 percent in China.

Further research from last year showed that 29.4 percent of sixth-year elementary and 39.6 percent of third-year junior high school students in the metropolitan area do not consider themselves to have good qualities.

In response to such worrying figures, the Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education (BoE) will be employing specialists in neuroscience and other fields to carry out the research and focus on how to foster self-confidence in children.

I always thought Japanese kids are happy with their pokemen and power rangers. Maybe they think that they are unable to “henshin” thats why they are unhappy.

This is a new system that will be implemented by 2009 and its main aim is to promote and instill the honorable samurai spirit in these young kids.

So kids will soon be able to beat up one another with sticks or shoot arrows at their teaches.

Does that mean soon all the kids will be having duels during recess time?
