Gundam Front Tokyo Theme Park

There are so many theme parks dedicated to popular Japanese pop icons and not one of theme is for Mobile Suit Gundam. Soon all that will change with the opening of a new Gundam theme park in Japan opening on 19 Apr 2012.

“Gundam Front Tokyo” is a small theme park that will open in Odaiba, located near the life-size Gundam statue that has been re-erected. There will be a free exhibition area that includes display of Gunpla and a shop for you to purchase them. In addition, there will be a paid area where visitors would need to pay a small fee to enter and see cool Gundam exhibits that are put on display.

YAMATO EXPO’10 – Valentine Special Event

This awesome 1/3 scale replica of the bow of Space Battleship Yamato [宇宙戦艦ヤマト] is on display at the YAMATO EXPO’10 – Valentine Special Event held at Bellesalle Akihabara [ベルサール秋葉原]. The exhibition is held on two days 13 Feb till 14 Feb 2010, and losta related goods from the anime series will be put on display.

I think someone should create a real life-size Space Battleship Yamato just like how they constructed the life-size scaled Gundam.

Tony Taka Illustration Exhibition

Folks living in Japan are so lucky because they get to see this lovely illustration exhibition featuring Tony Taka‘s work at Toranoana’s Akihabara Shop A. The exhibition is being held from 20 Nov 2009 till 29 Nov 2009.

Kouta Hirano’s 『Hellsing』 Exhibition

Following the conclusion of Hellsing Manga after 11 Years, Kouta Hirano is now set to hold his own Hellsing art exhibition in Akihabara.

The art exhibition will be held at Yodabashi in Akihabara, commencing today 27th March and will end on the 23rd April.

Lamborghini Gallardo Itasha

This has gotta be the most expensive itasha that I’ve ever seen. A Lamborghini Gallardo was spotted at the recent exhibition by eroge makers age and Nitro+.

Other beautiful sport cars include a BMW M5 and a Lancia Stratos.

Robot That Makes Okonomiyaki

Here’s one robot that I would love to have at home – Motoman, a robot manufactured by Yaskawa Electric Co, makes an okonomiyaki during a cooking demonstration at the International Next Generation Robot Fair in Osaka.

Tezuka Gene: Light in the Darkness Exhibition

To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the birth of Osamu Tezuka, an exhibition is now being held at Shibuya Parco entitled: Tezuka Gene: Light in the Darkness.

The exhibition features pieces by 35 artists based on the work of Osamu Tezuka and is on until Nov. 10.

Folks can head over to Mainichi Japan for a look at what is being showcased at the exhibition.

Inuyasha Short Anime Feature @ Rumiko Exhibition

Rumiko Takahashi holding an exhibition at the end of this month to mark the end of Inuyasha manga. And on the opening day, there will be a 30min short anime feature.

“It’s a Rumic World” exhibition will run from July 30 to August 11 at the Matsuya Ginza department store branch in Ginza.

The anime feature is titled “Black Tessaiga” (Kuroi Tessaiga) which is named after Tessaiga, Inuyasha’s trusty sword.’
