Kotobukiya has announced preoder for this really cute scaled figure of Letia Adolf from the eroge Daiteikoku 大帝国.

Not familiar with this game but I do like the chibi figure that is bundled together. So kawaii ~

Otaku Lingo: Harem ハーレム

Harem (ハーレム) is a very common anime/manga genre and these series are usually an adaptation from visual novel/eroge.

It is usually characterized by a male protagonist surrounded by three or more female characters and each of them seems to be vying for his love and attention (and sometimes for their own different reasons).

Harem series tend to be quite popular because the series include many female characters with different personalities and fans would be able to pick out one that suit their own liking to follow. Most of the time, the female characters not immediately attracted to the main protagonist at the start of the series but their relationship tend to develop over time with the progress of the anime or visual novel (usually as a result of his certain action). Popular harem series include:

Love Hina
Ai Yori Aoshi
Kanon
DA Capo
Maburaho
Shuffle!
To Love Ru!
Clannad
Zero no Tsukaima

Of course, harem series has progressed and it is now not necessary limited to just a male surrounded by a group of females. There are also reverse harem (逆ハーレム) where female is surrounded by many beautiful bishounen and one popular series I can think of would be Ouran High School Host Club (桜蘭高校ホスト部).

Alter has started taking preoder for this kawaii figure Kasugano Sora from the eroge and anime series Yosuga no Sora [ ヨスガノソラ]. She comes with two sets of different hairstyle so you can choose between tying her hair up or letting them flow down.

I really love her long flowing hair but I thought they should have incorporated her stuffed bunny doll along with the figure.

Akihabara After the Earthquake

While many parts of Japan was devastated by the Earthquake and Tsunami, Akihabara seemed to escape most part of it and while most shops were closed, some shops such as Toranoana & Softmap managed to reopened its shops after the quake. The images below were taken from AkibaBlog [1] & [2].

For those that were stuck in Akihabara because of the train services were disrupted, they wasted no time getting comfortable and playing games on their PSP and cellphones. Some even went back to the opened shops for more shopping.

What you need to get your mind off this terrible day might just be a good eroge … erm video game.

Sakuranbo Elementary Will Be Renamed To Remove Eroge Connections

Yesterday, we read the interesting news about the Elementary School Named After Eroge Site, and the mayor had flatly refused to change its name despite parents’ concern. Well, it appears that after the repeated media bashing, the mayor has finally cave in to the pressure and relented on his stance towards the name change.

Today the mayor has announced that the elementary school name will be changed after he began concerned about the security of the school and the safety of the elementary school kids. A new school name will be decided in due time.

Elementary School Named After Eroge Site

Sakuranbo Elementary School さくらんぼ小学校 might sound pretty innocent to the most of us. But a popular eroge company also uses the same title, hence creating controversy when the mayor of Yamagata prefecture decided use it for the new elementary school that is scheduled to open next year.

Of course the bad decision has now been spreading all over the news and concerned parents are asking authorities to change the name of the elementary school. However, the mayor has announced that he will not be changing the name anytime soon, and he was quoted saying:

「校名を変えれば、かえってアダルトの世界を正当化することになる」

Changing the school name would mean justifying the existence of eroge.

Volks ∀-Brand has announced that for the upcoming Wonder Festival Summer 2010, they will be release a very gorgeous kit of Celia Cumani Aintree ( スィーリア・クマーニ・エイントリー ) from the eroge Walkure Romanze ( ワルキューレロマンツェ[少女騎士物語] ).

The garage kit is an event exclusive and will be retailing for 12,000 yen. Not to mention that you would need expert skills to assemble and paint it.

Even though I have never played the game before, I really love the details of the armor. I hope some figure company would turn adopt it into a figure or I wouldn’t mind Volks turning her into a Dollfie Dream as well XD

Midnight Launch of Loli Eroge Kud Wafter

The highly anticipated loli eroge Kud Wafter (クドわふたー) by Key had a midnight launch on Friday 25 Jun 2010 at Akihabara and AkibaBlog was there to provide coverage at 3 different locations: Gamerz Main Store, Softmap PC Game Anime Building, and Softmap Amusement Building. Just look at all these scary otakus when the clock strikes midnight. BANZAI!

Here’s a look at the queuing situation before midnight. Its nice to see that everyone is queuing up in an orderly fashion.

Someone is carrying a Kudryavka dakimakura to keep him company while queuing. I think its dangerous to be carrying such precious items around.

The stores are all getting ready to welcome the waves of otakus.

Just look at the stacks of game being piled up on the shelves. Once the clock strikes midnight, staff are busy packing and otakus are just busy buying.

This unique Ita-Elevator 痛エレベーター can be found at the Gamers main shop in Akihabara and its promoting the new eroge Kud Wafter (クドわふたー), a Japanese adult visual novel that is developed by Key and scheduled for release on 25 Jun 2010.

Chara-ani has announced preorder for this figure of Kudryavka Noumi (能美クドリャフカ) from the eroge Littlebusters! Ecstasy. As the title suggest, the interesting point about this figure is that she is wearing really stretchable pantsu ^^

Just be sure not to pull too hard on her pantsu or you might give Noumi-chan a wedgie. XD
