Three of the suspects have been charged with murder while another has been charged with failing to provide assistance to a person in dangerafter he allegedly admitted to being at the scene of the crime. According to the Brussels public prosecutor, two of the murder suspects confessed.

While the identities of the suspects and victim have not been made public, the newspaper reported that a spokesperson for the prosecution said that they lived together. The spokesperson said that an argument had broken out between the suspects and the victim, and the victim refused to leave when asked. The argument allegedly turned physical with multiple blows that resulted in the victim’s death. According to the newspaper, the spokesperson said that the suspects decided to leave the two notes near the body since they were fans of manga.

Somehow I still didn’t see how the dismemberment of the victim can be linked to Death Note. This is definitely not Kira’s style.

This is just like last year when the highschool boy slashed his classmate with a nata, resulting in Higurashi being taken off Teletama’s broadcast schedule.

This was reported in the La Dernière Heure, a French daily newspaper in Belgium. Apparently several body parts were discovered by walkers in the park in the evening in the forest of Belgium’s Duden Park. Left behind on the scene was a messages which wrote “Watashi wa Kira dess”. I’m not sure whether its a mispelling by the killer or the newspaper.

This is certainly chilling but why does everything has to be related to anime nowadays! This is making a bad reputation for us otaku. This is certainly a bad year for the anime industry.

This little piece of news was directed to me by one of my readers, akaa.

Considering that fact that Death Note made the 4th spot in Japan’s Top Office Hits in 2006 (5.5 bil. yen), its little wonder why Warner Brothers are banking on this Death-Note money-making franchise. Personally, I didn’t really find the 2 Death Note movie that exciting or amazing compared to the manga itself. Maybe the 2nd movie did much better than the 1st one, but still I prefer the manga and the anime.

The teaser trailers for the upcoming movie can be seen at the website. I also found them on youtube and placed them below, though the trailers doesn’t seem to reveal much.

I wonder if the movie will be shown in Singapore as well.
