Comiket 81 Day 3 Queues Time Lapse

Ever wonder how crazy the queues are at the biannual Comiket? Someone took an interesting tilt-shift timelapse video of the crowd queueing all the way from before daylight breaks and until they start heading into the event hall. You can start watching from the 2:00 min break onwards cause thats where the action really take place.

Do take note that about half a million otakus visited Comiket 81 and the traffic captured in the video is only west-half of the event hall.

1/8 Suruga Kanbaru PVC [GSC Ver.] Preview

Back in Wonder Festival Summer 2010, we saw the figure sculpt for GoodSmile Company version of Suruga Kanbaru Suruga Kanbaru (神原駿河) from the anime series Bakemonogatari (化物語). Today at Comiket 79, the full colored version is being showcased and its simply awesome!!

1/8 Kuroneko PVC [Kotobukiya Ver.] Preview

At the ongoing Comiket event, Kotobukiya showcased their next figure of Kuroneko from the anime series Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai (俺の妹がこんなに可愛いわけがない), and I’m really impressed that they have done a good job of adapting her into figurine form.

She would make a perfect addition to the already announced 1/8 Kirino Kousaka PVC [Kotobukiya Ver.] that will be released in Feb 2011. As for Kuroneko, her preorder will be commencing next week.

Yesterday we took a look at some of the awesome cosplayers at Comiket 78 that took place last weekend. Now we have another batch of photos from ota-suke. In particular, I think the Luka cosplayer looks really moe.

Apart from rushing to buy the various doujins from famous circles, one of the highlights of Comiket is the cosplayers roaming around Tokyo Bigh Sight. Comiket 78 is taking place over the weekend and there are quite a lot of lovely cosplayers this year. Glad to see more variety than we saw at Wonder Festival Summer 2010.
