Its almost time for Christmas and that means everyone would be busy ordering yummy noms noms such as Christmas cake to share with family and friends. Japan’s Seven & i Holdings has enlisted the help of AKB48 members (Maeda Atsuko, Oshima Yuko and Itano Tomomi) to promote their christmas cake.

Each of the member is featured in a different scene, Acchan meeting her beloved lover, Korisu celebrating Christmas with her friends and Tomochin enjoying the festive season with her parents. Apparently, the special AKB48 christmas cake set is bundled with a special CD as well.

Last year, the angels from Evangelion invaded Christmas with a special Angel Chocolate Cake. This year they will be returning with another Christmas cake except that it will be bright red and strawberry flavored. The bright red colors does fit the Christmas theme nicely ^^

It took me quite a while to realise that the big red button-like cake actually symbolises the core of the Eva-units. The cake measures 13 centimeters in diameter and is filled with strawberry jam and mousse.

Preorders for the Evangelion Cake has commenced today and Japanese folks can place their orders at any Lawson convenience stores for just 4,500 yen. Each cake will also be bundled with a cute scaled figure of Asuka Langely Shikinami along with a  metal progressive knife so you can cut the cake with ease.

The entire package retails for 3,990 yen and comes with the cake, a figure of Rei, and a replica of the Longinus Spear made into a fork.

I can imagine hearing the screams of the staff working in Nerv HQ when I slice my knife into the cake lol

The chocolate cream roll will be sold for 4,410 yen and the bundle will include a metal progressive knife along with a figure of Asuka Langley Shikinami. The cake is scheduled for release in Oct 2011.

The first cake feature Rei and now the cream roll is featuring Asuka. I hope Bandai will eventually make a special cake or pastry featuring Mari as well XD

This cake was see at the wedding of one of the staff member from Sega. I would love to see the reactions of the guests that were invited to the wedding reception.

I just love how they such a cute picture by using the chocolate sauce for the cheesecake. Kawaiiiiii ~

This coolsome creation was created by Jennifer Luxmore (and friends) of Sin Desserts, and it took an amazing 60 hours to complete.

The legs and base [of the Star Wars AT-AT cake] are wood, covered in gum paste and the cake is the head and body. I was in charge of baking, covering it in fondant and covering the legs with the gum paste.

The cake was a new cake for us… the Guiness Cake. and the background was hand painted by Joe. All of the people involved in the cake are artists of some sort and it took (everyone combined) about 60 hours (background painting, leg and body cut outs, covering, cake/covering, assembly and painting) so we figured the cake to come in some where around $5,000 at the low end.
