The International Olympic Committee made the announcement early this morning that Tokyo has been chosen to host the 2020 Summer Games.
The vote was done in Buenos Aires, where the committee picked Tokyo over the two other contenders, Madrid and Istanbul. Tokyo previously hosted the Summer Games in 1964.
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe delivered a charismatic speech to the International Olympic Committee. Despite worries from the radiation leaking from the Fukushima nuclear plant, the PM had promised an effective cleanup.
