Apart from the immensely popular AKB48, there are many other idol groups in Japan and one of the more popular one is Momoiro Clover Z (ももいろクローバーZ). It has been announced that the 5-member idol group would be performing for the first time at this year’s 63rd Kouhaku Uta Gassen.
Momoiro Clover Z loosely parodies Japanese tokusatsu shows and themes, and their slogan is “週末ヒロイン”. Their youthful energy and energetic dance moves have proven to be popular with the younger teens.
It would be nice to see more idol groups performing at Kouhaku in addition to AKB48. Of course, I would also love to see more seiyuus and anisong singers been given the opportunity to perform at this annual music show.
