Man Recreates Japanese Castle with Beer Can

What do you do with those beer cans after drinking? Some would throw it away or return it to the recycling center.

This man in Japan used recycled beer cans recreated a scaled model of the central tower of Takatori Castle in Nara. In total, 30,5679 cans were used and such an impressive feat meant that it was recorded into the Guinness World Record.

Majority of the aluminium cans used to construct the statue were recycled from 380 neighboring households, while some were donated by companies. The organisers started collecting cans from January 2012, began constructing in May, and finished making the statue on 28 August.
