All over the world, there are numerous festivals that are related to water. For Today’s Japan Photo, we get to experience the “Fukagawa Hachimangu Matsuri”, which is an annual festival of Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine.
The festival is also termed as ”Mizukake Matsuri” literally means water-throwing festival, where water is being pour furiously onto the participants, including those who are carrying the mikoshi (portable shrines).
