Anime Festival Asia 2012 Special Guests

Apart from a stellar list of anisong artistes, today’s Anime Festival Asia Press Briefing also shared on some of the upcoming special guests that have been invited for AFA 2012.

DannyChoo

DannyChoo, a good friend and inspiration needs no further introduction as he is the top Japanese pop culture blogger, and he has been very supportive of AFA for the past years. When he is not busy expanding his Mirai Millennium franchise, he host his own television show Culture Japan and the upcoming Japan Mode.

Watanabe Shinichiro 

Watanabe Shinichiro is an influential Japanese anime filmmaker, screenwriter, and producerm and well-known for directing the critically and commercially successful anime series Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo.

He is known for blending together multiple genres in his anime creations. In Cowboy Bebop, for example, Watanabe mixes classic cowboy western with 1940s/1950s New York City film noir, Jazz music and Hong Kong action movies, and sets the entire series in space. In his later work, Samurai Champloo, Watanabe mixes the cultures of Okinawa, hip-hop, modern-day Japan, and chanbara.

Go Nakanishi

An anime producer behind popular anime series such as Fafner and Negima?!, Go Nakanishi returns to AFA again and he will be presenting to his fans his latest anime project “K”.

KANAME☆

He is AFA’s cosplay ambassador and truly a great celebrity cosplayer whom has protrayed really great characters such as Cloud from “Final Fantasy VII Advent Children” to Kurosaki Ichigo from “Bleach” and Portgas D.Ace from ”One Piece”. KANAME☆ is someone who inspires many other cosplayers with his vision and realistic cosplay.

Singi


Japanese cosplayer singi (清祇) to Singapore is known for her eccentric cosplays such as Kikyo and Yuli from ”Pop’n Music” and various curiously morbid versions of “Vocaloid” characters.
