Today’s Japan Photo: Obon Lanterns

For Today’s Japan Photo, we visit Fukushima to see a traditional lantern shop that has been making lanterns used for the Bon Festival.

The shop has been around since the Edo period and has been handed down to its eighth generation. Apparently 10 of these handcrafted lanterns can be made everyday.
