Today’s Japan Photo: One Year Later

This Sunday would be the 1 year anniversary of the devastating 11 Mar 2011 Touhoku Earthquake and Tsunami that tore through Japan. For Today’s Japan Photo, we take a look at these two photos of comparing the same location in Kesennuma, Miyagi Prefecture one year later. You can see that while the ship that has been swept ashore still remains, the debris has largely been removed and the rebuilding process is going on smoothly.

IMO they should keep the ship there.

The resolve and conviction of the Japanese people to get things back to normal is amazing. Seeing the aftermath photos of that place were devastating, but the people all pulled together in time of need, and became close as a country. I am also amazed at this one article where a large number of wallets and purses were gathered with the contents untouched. The Japanese people are truly an inspiration to me and I respect them greatly for it. Keep it up Japan !
