A life-size Fist of the North Star (北斗の拳) statue was auctioned off for 3 million yen on Yahoo! Japan in Dec 2011.
While you might think that that is too much to pay for any figure, it was actually a profitable transaction because the outfit had 500,000 Swarovski crystals on it that were worth more than 10 million yen!
The statue was created by Tokuma Shouten’s Coamix imprint together with figure maker Kaiyodo. Of course, the project was personally supervised by Fist of the North Star’s own creator, Hara Tetsuo.

The auction was won by a self-employed man that lives in Shizuoka Prefecture and he shares that his entire family are fans of the series. He has plans to make it a family heirloom and now the statue is proudly displayed within a customised acrylic case
10% of the final 3-million-yen bid was donated to the Japanese Red Cross for efforts in the areas affected by the March 11 Great Eastern Japan Earthquake (Higashi Nihon Daishinsai) disaster.

If you had a chance with enough money to order your own full-scaled figure, what character would you want to get? And from which figure maker?
