The results for AKB48 3rd Senbatsu Election was announced on Thursday and fans celebrated the results with cheers and tears. After tallying all the votes, it has been revealed that a total of 1,166,145 votes were casted between the official voting period of 24 May 2011 till 8 Jun 2011.
Amongst all the votes, 779,090 were casted using the serial number that was bundled with the “Everyday, Kachuusha” single, while the remainder 387,055 were casted using the free votes allocated to each member of the AKB48 official fan club.

The votes counted represent a huge rise in the idol group popularity since last year where only 380,000 votes were casted. Its just so amazingly to know that there are so many folks out there who support AKB48 just like myself. XD
