The official AKB48 blog has been updated with announcement of their exciting overseas development plans in Singapore, Taiwan, Guanzhou, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
As you already know, Singapore would be having its AKB48 theatre with bi-monthly performances starting in late May. Now it is confirmed that they will be opening an official shop and cafe in Singapore as well! (Do check out the official Singapore website as well).
AKB48 official shops will also be opening in Taiwan and Shanghai in June and July 2011 respectively. In addition, Guangzhou will be having an AKB48 photo exhibition, while Hong Kong will be having its own AKB48 senbatsu.
Its clear that Aki-P wants to build the AKB48 franchise into an international brand and he’s starting out with the major cities in Asia. Soon fans will have more opportunities to interact with their favorite AKB48 idols XD
