Japan’s children day is celebrated on 5 May every year and for Today’s Japan photo, we shall take a look at how the lovely Koinobori 鯉幟 which will be flown specially on that day are being produced.
Here’s the description of the photo taken from Mainichi Japan as well:
An artisan paints colorful “koinobori,” or carp streamers, at Hashimoto Yakichi Shoten Co., a carp streamer manufacturer in the Saitama Prefecture city of Kazo, ahead of Children’s Day on May 5. Carp streamers are all handmade at the manufacturer, from cutting and sewing to painting, and it takes about two months to make a 10-meter-long streamer. (Mainichi)
I just love how the photographer managed to capture all the vibrant colors of the Koinobori.
