4th Annual Seiyuu Award Winners

The 4th annual seiyuu awards was announced yesterday, and the top honors went to Daisuke Ono [小野 大輔] for his voice acting as Kuroshitsuji’s Sebastian and Miyuki Sawashiro [沢城 みゆき] as Canaan.

In addition, best supporting voice actor went to Daisuke Namikawa [浪川 大輔] and Shinichiro Miki [三木 眞一郎], while best supporting voice actress was awarded to Kikuko Inoue [井上 喜久子] and Yui Horie [堀江 由衣]. If you want to see the entire list of award recipients, you can head over to ANN.

Additional information:

Hiroshi Kamiya and Rie Kugimiya won the Best Lead Actor and Lead Actress Awards, respectively, last year. Mamoru Miyano and Aya Hirano won top honors two years ago, while Jun Fukuyama and Romi Paku held the honors in The 1st Seiyū Awards the previous year.

    While I haven’t seen all the anime some of these seiyu won their awards for, I’d say the majority of them deserved their awards if other roles I’ve seen them in is anything to go by.

    Without going through the entire list, I can say right away that I think Ono Daisuke deserved the award for his role as Sebastian. I personally think that Sawashiro Miyuki shouldn’t have won her award for the roles mentioned, but she is a fantastic seiyu overall, so I’m not complaining.

    Well, I see little point in debating who would have deserved what more, and who didn’t deserve what, so I’ll just end this post by saying: Congratulations to everyone who won an award!
