Today’s Japan Photo: Large Snow Sculpture

Is your part of the world still snowing? If you live in the tropics like me, then you might like Today’s Japan photo, where we look at this gigantic structure sculpture out of snow.

This photo was taken off Mainich JP, if you looked carefully, the humans are really tiny in the photo, which means that the snow sculpture is really gigantic! Here’s a some description on the snow structure:

Crowds gather in front of a 26-meter-high baroque church sculpted out of snow at the launch of the 61st Sapporo Snow Festival, in Odori Park in Sapporo’s Chuo Ward on Friday. Some 2 million visitors are expected at the festival, which runs through to Feb. 11. (Mainichi)

Another of the great things of snow, its a shame that in most places of my country there is no snow so to see something like this we really have to put a lot of effort, its a cool thing to see

  2. Woah! I wished they pictured the construction phase. I really want to know if they made the entire thing by hand or with the aid of construction machines.

Baroque church, eh? You’ll see a lot of these churches in the provinces here.
