Today’s Japan Photo: Fox Wedding 狐の嫁入り
For Today’s Japan photo, we will take a look at the very unique Fox Wedding, which is otherwise known as Kitsune no Yomeiri [狐の嫁入り].

This photo was taken off カラスの勝手. Actually the term Kitsune no Yomeiri [狐の嫁入り] refers to the occurrence of rain occurring during brilliant sunshine, which is said to occur a fox bride is going through the woods to the house of her fox groom. Sometimes during festival occasions, shrines would stage the “fox wedding” as well, and that is when we would get to see the interesting couple wearing the fox mask.

Funny whenever it rains during a sunny day here they say a tikbalang is getting married. A tikbalang is a mythical creature that has a head of a horse and a body of a man XD
Why would one thing relate to the other?
Well they both have something to do with marriage of mythical creatures in rainy sunny days O_o
This is a great photo, I would love to see such a wedding myself… or have one myself! (seeing my lastname in dutch means fox)
