Akihabara Stabbing Suspect Admits Responsibility And Apologises
Tomohiro Kato, the person responsible for the unfortunate Deadly Stabbing In Akihabara has admitted responsibility and apologized in court on Thursday. The stabbing rampage in Akihabara on 8 Jun 2008 ended with seven people killed and 10 others injured.

Kato is accused of ramming a truck into a pedestrian-filled area in Akihabara that was closed off to traffic at about 12:30 p.m. on June 8, 2008, and running over five people, three of whom died. He then stabbed 12 people, killing four of them, according to the indictment. He also stabbed a police officer who tried to apprehend him, obstructing the officer from performing his duties, and violated the Firearms and Swords Control Law by illegally possessing five knives, including the ones used in the stabbings, according to the charges against him.
Kato had admitted he is responsible for the stabbing rampage in court and gave his apology during his hearing:
I first would like to use this opportunity to offer an apology. I am deeply sorry to the people who died, those who were injured, and to the bereaved family members.

Time really flew by and its almost 1.5 years after the incident took place. Its really an unfortunate accident involving innocents folks who just happened to be at the wrong place and time.
