Last evening I was doing my weekly grocery run at my favorite local Mediya supermarket and I came across these large juicy-looking Sekai Ichi [世界一] Apples from Japan. However, I got a shock when I saw that they were being sold for SGD $ 14.90 each! @_@
Did a quick search on Wikipedia JP, and realised that they are one of the largest variety of apples out there. Considering that I can get really yummy apples for around 1-2 dollars, I can’t really understand why someone would pay so much. So anyone tried this apple before?

I’ve had some before at a friend’s house, but don’t remember them tasting that much better than a Fuji apple. Then again, I don’t eat many types of apples other than Fuji, but I still can’t imagine Sekai Ichi being that much worth it.
My favorite are Fuji apples too ^^
Wow, expensive much, they look very nice and round though.
Never had a Fuji apple.. sounds goodies
