Racing For Luck

On the 10 Jan every year, a very special event is held at Nishinomiya Shrine [西宮神社].They hold a special race in the early morning where folks can participate in a race for luck. The competition requires participants to race through the premise of the shrine, and the first person to reach the steps of the shrine will be the luckiest man for that particular year.

The university undergraduate wearing green featuring in the photo above ran so fast that he won the race and was crowned “luckiest man for 2010″. Here’s a youtube news coverage of the event:
