Japanator reports that Namco Bandai’s upcoming RPG God Eater demo which was release two month back (since November 19, 2009), and it had been so popular that it was downloaded over 1 million times! I wonder if it is going to sell as well when it is released in Feb 2010.
Many fans of Monster Hunter had been lamenting that God Eater is just a ripoff. Since I’m not a big fan of such games, I just leave you with the gameplay trailer to decide for yourself. But I must say that the gun mode with special bullets sounds like a cool feature.

I’ve played Monster Hunter before. So when I saw the God Eater game trailer a few months ago, I really thought it was a ripoff. But who knows, how it will be in the US and Europe market..
One possible explanation for the high number of downloads in Japan, people are curious how the gameplay mechanics are. Though this is just my opinion
Yeah probably because Monster Hunter is very popular in Japan so many fans are trying out the mechanics for comparison.
Well since I’ve never played MH before, this wouldn’t seem all too bad to me as a new game.
