Many of you might be having fun at Christmas parties over the weekend but how do you get home after the party? This 44-year-old man was arrested early Wednesday morning for allegedly stealing a car after he attended his company year-end party in Chiba Prefecture.

Hirofumi Suzuki, a resident of Misato City in Saitama Prefecture, is accused of getting into an unlocked car which had its engine running in a nearby car park, and driving off at just after 2 a.m. Wednesday.

The female owner of the car, who had left the engine running to warm up the inside of the car, called police and they were able to locate Suzuki shortly after on a street within the city.

Suzuki, who told police he was trying to go home, was given an alcohol breath test and was found to be over the limit. Police said they will pursue a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.
