Life Size Gundam Will Be Revived In 2010

I’m sure many Gundam fans are already missing the Life-size Gundam RX-78, which was erected in June in celebration of Gundam’s 30th anniversary but was subsequently dismantled a couple of months later. Folks who had missed seeing the statue need not feel dissapointed because the statue will be reassembled in Jul 2010!

Gundam Tokyo

According to news reports, the life-size Gundam will be relocated to Shizuoka City, where it will be placed next to the Higashi-Shizuoka train station in Aoki ward.

As ANN reports, the Bandai Hobby Center, the production factory for Bandai’s Gundam plastic model kits, is located in Shizuoka. (Many other model kit manufacturers, such as Tamiya, are also located in this city.) The statue will remain on display at Higashi-Shizuoka from July of 2010 to May of 2011, and then be moved to another prefecture. It will eventually be erected near the Bandai Hobby Center.

This is definitely great news and hopefully I will get to see it when I visit Japan next year ^^
