Softbank Giving Away Otosan Speakers

A couple of months back, Softbank was giving away “speaking Otosan Slippers“. Now they are back again with more kawaii Otosaan merchandise in the form of a speaker which folks can connect their cellphones.
Here’s the CM promoting the new Otosan speakers. I love the part where the angry gaijin wife ask his husband to return home. LOL
But then again, I was thinking, why would anyone need such a huge speaker for their cellphone? Wouldn’t everyone be able to hear your conversation then?
Even if i got this speaker, i wouldn’t use it on my cellphone. I thought cellphone is suppose to be a portable communication tool? Having that speaker doesn’t make it that portable.

Oh yeah! No wonder I was thinking Tara-San looks very familiar. Thanks for pointing that out. But I wonder if Japanese folks are familiar with him compared to the previous ad where Brad Pitt was carrying this huge sumo.
