Eden of the East 2nd Movie Postponed

I’m sure many folks are looking foward to the two-part movie for Eden of the East, but now there is news that the 2nd movie is being delayed by two months due to adjustments in the storyline.

As announced earlier back in June, the first film titled “The King of Eden” was scheduled for release on 28 November 2009, while the second film titled “Paradise Lost” was scheduled in January of 2010.

Gigazine reports that according to Production I.G, the second film was originally planned to be released on January 9, 2009 but the production is delayed due to some new development on the plot so the release date was postponed to March, 2010. The exact date is as yet unannounced. The first part is to come out on November 28, 2009, as planned.

Apart from delaying the project, it seems like Production I.G. also increased the length of the two films. Initially the two films were planned to be 60 minutes each but now the first movie has been increased to 82 minutes while the second part seems to have around 90 minutes of story. Therefore Gigazine deducts that they might be facing problems in creating a proper conclusion to the entire series.

Regardless of what happens, I hope the movie will be brought to Singapore for screening. I rather they delay the movie that to provide an unsatisfying conclusion, especially since I’m dying to find out what happen ever since the anime series ended.
