I think its a common sight in Japan to see very young kids travel alone on the streets without their parents. We have also seen Japanese variety shows where very young Japanese kids are allowed to go shopping by themselves. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t any baddies around the neighbourhood.

And thus, KDDI is introducing a new cellphone device called 「mamorino(マモリーノ)」 that will help to prevent kids from being abducted by strange men. KDDI is partnering with SECOM to provide a GPS tracking system so that parents can keep constant track of their kids’ location.
