After many months of anticipation, the Kobe Tetsujin 28-go Statue is finally completed! Here’s a photo of the complete statue which was taken off Mainichi Photo Journal:

An 18-meter-high statue of Tetsujin 28-go (Gigantor in English), a cartoon character by late manga creator Mitsuteru Yokoyama, is unveiled at Wakamatsu Park in Kobe’s Nagata Ward on Tuesday, Sept. 29. The monument has been built as a symbol of the reconstruction of the area, which was hit heavily by the Great Hanshin Earthquake in 1995. (Mainichi)
And here’s a news report on the Tetsujin statue:
There will be an official opening ceremony scheduled this Sunday, 04 Oct 2009. Looking forward to seeing more reports and photos from the Japanese bloggers.
