Kobe Tetsujin Project Town Gets New Street Lamps

Submitted by Alafista on Friday, 25 September 2009No Comment

Seems like the Nagata Ward in Kobe prefecture is getting ready to unveil their 18 meters tall Tetsujni 28-Go statue, and they are installing new lights for the streets as well:

A street lamp in Kobe’s Nagata Ward can be seen in the shape of the head of Tetsujin 28-go (Gigantor in English), a manga character by the late Mitsuteru Yokoyama, who hailed from the area. Five of the street lamps line a shopping street near Shin-Nagata Station, and the city is also set to unveil an 18-meter-tall monument to the famous robotic character in a nearby park. (Mainichi)

I think five lamps is too little, they should decorate the entire town with such street lamps so that folks would know Nagata ward is the town of the Kobe Tetsujin.
