It seems like we were quite wrong about the Quiet Launch For PS3 Slim because Famitsu has announced that, in fact, more than 150,000 units of PS3 Slim has been sold 4 days (3-6 Sep 2009) since its launch.

Source: Famitsu and Canned Dogs
As Canned Dog had mentioned, the sales figure could have been attributed to online stores such as Amazon, which would probably explain the empty queues for the launch event at Yodobashi Camera in Akihabara.

Well. You´d imagine it would sell pretty well since it has such “improvements” over the basic PS3.
I won´t get one though. I need backwards compability for getting a PS3 Slim. I also wonder why they didn´t just make it PSThree since they´ve named their earlier version PSOne and PSTwo…
Backwards compatibility is everything that the ps3 needs to really be sold out, its a good thing that some of the early models had it. I heard that this version of ps3 was sold out online a while before release
If it was backward compatible, I would be scrambling to purchase a set too
Alafista: Yeah, I know what you mean. I found one part of it being worse as well down. From what I can see there is no power button like it is on the PS3.
Which is a bit of a shame. But I guess it should work.
FNX: I have a old 40GB PS3 that is BC
And I love it every day.
