Japan has already its superiority in the anime industry by constructing the full-scale Gundam statue and is soon to complete the Tetsujin 28-go statue as well. But now Korea has decided to add in some competition by announcing plans to build a 364 feet tall statue of Robot Taekwon V (a robot that is similar to Mazinger Z).

This gigantic statue will be part of Robot Land, an amusement park that is themed after robots. Once completed, the statue will be more than twice the height of New York’s Statue of Liberty and five times taller than the Gundam statue.

Maybe this will spark a competition between Japan and Korea to see who can build the coolest and badass robot statue. Maybe some Japanese scientist is already trying to invent Chogokin [超合金] so that we can enter into the great age of Mazinger Z.

I’d love to know when the Koreans started planning this giant robot statue in earnest, especially in relation to the appearance of news about the giant Gundam… Unless it’s all an evil plot by the Japanese to steal Korea’s thunder and make them look like one-upping assholes.
isnt there any copyright issue out there? i dunno what is the robot from though
Maybe they can build bigger but theirs don’t kick ass
I don’t care if Korea is competing with Japan on whoever builds the biggest robot. All I want to see is some robot-fighting action! XD

Maybe North Korea will compete by building a giant statue of a robot with the face of Kim Jong-Il!
Dear Japan,
Please make a lifesize replica of Voltes V.
Thank You.
