Japanese Men Sit Down When Peeing

Here’s a simple question for my male readers: “Do you pee standing up or sitting down?”. It seems like many Japanese men actually sit down when peeing.
JapanProbe posted a youtube clip from a TV Tokyo program that featured a section on how Japanese men pee by sitting down on the toilets instead of standing up.
Here’s some interesting stats: In 1999, only 15% of Japanese men claimed they sit down to urinate. By 2007, almost half of the male population were answering that they sit down to pee!

I find that its too much of a hassle to sit down and then stand up again, so I’d just pee standing up. Furthermore, I’m the sole user of my toilet at at home so I can do whatever I want inside ^^
My brother in law (who is Caucasian) also pees this way. His reasoning is that its “less messy”. I’m a girl so I wouldn’t know but the Japanese are a pretty clean people, it wouldn’t surprise me if this was their reasoning as well.

You can never be sure that it will be only peeing, so sitting down is also a way to prevent unwanted accidents. Furthermore, you don’t have to worry about your aim.
Taking down your pants, sitting down to pee and putting your pants up again wastes too much time so I prefer standing up. Plus, I get to practice my aim XD
I do both. Not at the same time but it changes from time to time.
More men should sit down to urinate. The guys who say they don’t have to because their “aim is fine” have obviously never had to clean a toilet, or they simply overlook all those yellow speckles that get everywhere. Seriously, I know people are busy, but would it kill anyone to spend a few seconds to drop trou and keep the bathroom tidy? Absolutely not.
As far as I know all my boyfriends sat down while peeing and so do most of my male family members.
I like them sitting, not dirty drips around the toilet.
I personally sit down. I find like others have said it’s much cleaner and it’s always a good way to keep clean.
No matter how good your aim is you are gonna get a few drops somewhere unless that is you are standing on the toilet seat itself aiming down and who does that?
