Interesting Events At Comiket 76
Yesterday we got to see the huge otaku crowd that had gathered for Comiket 76. Knowingly that otaku are always up to weird and funny things, such a huge gathering would usually spell disaster.
True enought, a lot of interesting funny events took place and Canned Dogs did a nice summary of those that found their way onto 2ch:
Summary of Comiket 76 Day 01:
# Good Smile Company’s queue was longer than Type-moon!
# Group of 3 kids in front of Akihabara station brought for questioning as one of them had a knife
# 3 people at comiket having live telecast over niconico stopped by staff
# Just before comiket started somebody was taken away on a stretcher while shouting “I’m okay! I’m okay!”
# 12,000 people queued overnight
# Bunch of Saki fans got together and sang the 2nd OP

# Father and son that did not know that it was comiket and just queued up anyway saying that odaiba is amazing
# Guy who didn’t manage to get his copy of umineko started shouting and went up and pulled ryukishi07’s hat off and ryukishi was bald
# Fight at touhou queue because somebody tried to jump the queue and cut in
# Touhou queues break down as young kids keep cutting into the queues

# Nico touhou fans start singing Cirno’s perfect maths class in a group

Its just amazing that otakus would fight over their precious doujins and chara goods. But the funniest would be the person that was carried away on the stretched shouting “I’m okay! I’m okay!”. Seems like a familiar scene from Genshiken. LOL
oh-ho, breaking the queue now? I wonder if it’s a usual occurence in huge events like Comiket, or has the we-must-queue-to-get-sth mental (which is what Japanese are famous for) begun to deteriorate?

4th line on first day, and 7th line on second day really rulez.
So Ryuukishi07 is bald? That’s news to me. It didn’t seem that way on the photos of him I have seen. Anyways, his work is awesome and I can’t wait for the translation of the 5th episode of Umineko.
