inFAMOUS Being Adapted By Hollywood

Submitted by Alafista on Thursday, 30 July 20093 Comments

inFAMOUS was one of the awesome games that I had purchased last month. It seems like Hollywood is going to adapt this game into a major motion picture with Sony Pictures discussing a seven-figure deal with producers Avi and Ari Arad and screenwriter Sheldon Turner.

Here’s what Sheldon has to say about the game:

“What excited me most about the game was it was the first of which I’ve come across that had a big idea and a character arc,” Turner said. “It is, I believe, the future of gaming. The game, while big and fun, is at its core a love ballad to the underachiever, which is what our hero, Cole McGrath, is.”

Just last month I reported that Avi and Ari Arad were producing an adaptation for Uncharted. Now they are buying rights for inFAMOUS. I wonder if its a vicious cycle where Hollywood folks scramble to adapt every possible video game into a potential Hollywood blockbuster.

I dont care anymore for this game to movie adaptations. Almost all of them miserably fail!

I really don’t see the point of making a movie for Infamous. While the game was quite fun and a joy to play the story line and characters were pretty bad.

Story is a total write off until the big twist at the end. All the characters are either to stale(Cole) Annoying(Zeke) or pointless(Trish)

So really unless they just wanna make a movie about shooting lightning from your figure types there really is no need for a Infamous movie.

Just wait for it, theres gonna be a Prototype film next just so the developers can say “We can do it too! ^^”
