Japanese Attempt To Understand Dog Language

Japanese folks love their pets so much that they would love to be able to understand what their cute puppy dogs are saying. So Tomy Co. has created “Bowlingual”, a device that is said to be able to “translates” dog emotions.

The wireless microphone device, which fits on a dog’s collar, transmits the dog’s sound to a handheld consul which analyzes and then “simplies” the sound into six emotional categories.

The device then emits a common phrase matching the dog’s emotional state, both in words and voices.

I wonder what sounds does a dog make when it was to pee at the nearby lampost? Will the device be able to tell me that?

what is it about EVERYONE ELSE besides me on the planet that dont understand the fact that dogs barking isnt a foreign language, its a primitive means of comunication, THERE IS NO TRANSLATION! come on world, make more interesting things -__-

Dude its not translating a “language” this thing takes the sound and speed of a bark and displays a pic on the handheld part depicting the probable mood of the dog. So basically its not translating its just saying Dog = Happy etc. because it barked that way. If it said something like “I would like to go for a stroll in the park” then I could understand your lil rage fit and would join in lol but for this article I think its a little misplaced.

it has six catagories, its stupid, neither of my dogs would get an accurate reading from this, its absolute crap designed to sell to idiots using the illusion of “animal speak”, my case still stands
