Bandai Namco seem to have played a big tricks on otaku gamers. It has been revealed that one of the characters (Akizuki Ryo) in iDOLM@STER Dearly Station is in fact not a girl!

Following the release of the first promotional trailer of Dearly Station, Bandai Namco has revealed that one of their characters is a trap. Here’s the translation provided by Canned Dogs.

Ryo: Oh no! I have to hurry up!
Ryo: If Ai-chan and Eri-chan see me like this
Ryo: They’ll find out I’m really a guy!
Ryo: I got to hurry up and change!
Ryo: Okay, now all that is left is the make-up
Ryo: Gyaooooon! My pads aren’t on the right way!

And the scary thing is: Preorder numbers have multiplied after the announcements were made!

The preorder numbers for Idolm@ster Dearly Stars that were made through niconico was only at 142 till two days ago, but after it was revealed that Akizuki Ryo is a guy, the preorders have multiplied, with an additional 160 preorders made yesterday, and another 237 more preorders made today, bringing the total to 539 now.
