1 Million Yen Throw Away

Submitted by Alafista on Friday, 10 July 20092 Comments

In this tough economic times, Japanese folks are still so rich that they have to throw away some of their money – Over 1 million yen in 10,000-yen notes were found Wednesday at a garbage processing facility in Yamanashi Prefecture.

Investigators said a 29-year-old worker at waste transportation and disposal company Suzuken, in Fuefuki, Yamanashi Prefecture, found between about 50 and 100 of the 10,000-yen notes in garbage that was being processed at the company, and phoned police.

All of the notes that were discovered were 10,000-yen notes, and including those that were torn, there were more than 100 in total.

Police are continuing to search for the owner of the cash.

I’m pretty sure the police folks are not giving their 100% to search for the owner. Instead, the local police station is waiting for the claim period to expire and then go out to buy a new karaoke set for their officers.
