Evangelion 2.0 Earns 500 Million Yen From Weekend Premier

Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance is really Gainax’s winning product for the year, bringing in an impressive box office earning of more than 500 million yen from the 2 days screening over last weekend (27 June 2009 & 28 June 2009).
The movie was screened at 120 cinemas and earned a total of 512,180,200 yen from the two days screening. This was a much better performance than the opening of the first movie, which had only screened at 84 cinemas.

I’m glad that there’s an impressive box office earnings. This would convince the production folks to spend more budget and time to create even greater action sequence in Evangelion 3.0 and Evangelion Final.
500 million yen? In two days? That’s pretty crazy.
Only hearing good about this movie so, whenever it is. Definitely looking forward to watching it in a year or two when it’s released on DVD.
